Aitor Hernandorena

Lean Manufacturing Coordinator at Estellaprint

Since his arrival at Estellaprint in 2017, Aitor Hernandorena has led a key transformation process in the plant’s continuous improvement strategy. His vision has made it possible to move from one-off actions to a structured model aligned with the group’s standards.

A strategy aligned with excellence

In the first phase, the foundations were laid for a system based on standardization, people and operational excellence. Over the past two years, the group has gone a step further with the implementation of a model structured on three pillars: management system, operating system and talent culture. “This is an ambitious strategy that seeks to standardize continuous improvement in all the group’s plants,” explains Aitor.

Internal communication as a driver of change

One of the most relevant advances has been the implementation of a new communication structure in the plant, based on daily operational meetings. Thanks to this system, response times have improved and the involvement of the teams in solving problems and identifying opportunities for improvement has increased.

Direct customer and market impact

The application of these principles has enabled Estellaprint to reduce manufacturing times, optimize operating costs and strengthen the consistency of its quality standards. “Continuous improvement helps us to respond better and faster to our customers’ needs,” Aitor emphasizes.

Case Study

Among the most representative cases, Aitor mentions the automation of a key operation in the bending area, which increased productivity by more than 40%.
