Fundación Tomillo recieves two prestigious awards for its important work for society

Grupo Lantero collaborates with Fundación Tomillo in programmes to promote social and labour integration in young people.

Fundación Tomillo has received two prestigious awards,the Iberdrola End to Poverty Award and the Ermst & Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award in recognition of its outstanding work in the community, in the areas of education and support for social inclusion and work integration of young people in Spain. The Iberdrola End to Poverty Award presented to Fundación Tomillo, acknowledges the importance of the Foundation’s social programme carried out inthe Colonia de Los Olivos district of Madrid. The aim of the Project is to promote development and training among young people with a range of different difficulties. Fundación Tomillo works specifically on improving neighbourly relations in the Colonia de Los Olivos, using community intervention methods that are in turn coordinated by the social services’ municipal technicians. Likewise, the consultancy firm Ernst & Young Global has presented Mr Javier Lantero, founder of Fundación Tomillo, with the Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award in recognition of his important contribution to social inclusion and the creation of jobs among young people in Spain. The award presentation in this twenty-third edition took place at Madrid Casino on 13th December. This renowned international award acknowledges enterprising companies, promoters and managers for their excellent work in the business world.

More than thirty years contributing to the improvement of society

Fundación Tomillo is a private non-profit organisation whose purpose is to contribute to social improvement and to people’s development. Through its training programmes and the creation of direct employment it achieves the social inclusion of the most deprived people and groups in society. The Foundation also develops other projects focused on childhood, adolescence and the family. In 2017 the Foundation helped more than 9,800 people at its centres, with the aid of a team of 276 staff (mostly teachers, educators and psychologists), demonstrating its commitment to improving people’s lives and their community. Grupo Lantero, through its four packaging divisions (Coexpan, Emsur, LecaGraphics and EstellaPrint), maintains a close relationship with Fundación Tomillo and actively collaborates in training programmes and inimproving the employability of young people in the Community of Madrid.
